Legacy Rankings - Entering the 2022 Playoffs

Reflecting on the legacies of each franchise and the potential implications of these playoffs

Patrick has the pole position at this point. All-time leader in wins. Five regular season titles, Steve is the only other with more than one (2). Four scoring titles. The only league member for whom it is historically accurate, canon within the record that he has a Full Load under his belt. But a historically bad season last year (no Mully) and a shared claim to most championships has that spot vulnerable. Legacy shades of Peyton Manning.

Sloan has taken the second spot through his consistently high ceiling every year. The all-time leader in scoring. Highest scoring week.  One championship, two Mully's. If he wins the chip this year, top spot may be in the eye of the beholder. Legacy shades of Aaron Rodgers.

Tyler is 3rd in all time scoring and record. But he falls to 6th in these rankings for his lack of success at the highest level. Needing a championship to move any higher on this list, a second Mully this year wouldn't cause him to slide any further. Playing for pride at this point. Legacy shades of Phillip Rivers/Matt Ryan.

Travis sits in 5th, buoyed by back-to-back championships each from the 4th seed. Dead last all time in scoring and second to last record. A third championship could move him to third in the rankings. Legacy shades of Eli Manning.

Kevin's iconic championship run secures his spot at 7th. His all time stats won't stand out, but he's shown the ability to play at the highest level. He must be dreading last this year and having to face the inaugural beer mile taking his family name, which already bears a striking resemblance to the last place title, and the misery (and logistics) of the WH challenge. If he loses, our boy will need a wellness check. Legacy shades of Stafford, Flacco.

Someone has to come in 8th, it's our commish at this point. Suffering from a glaring lack of a championship and middling all time stats, he's still made the playoffs 5/10 seasons. Back to back Mully's, and their associated punishments, would be devastating for our dentist. Legacy shades of Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff.

Going into this season, Jacques and Max had an identical all time record and were close in points, with Jacques holding a slight edge. Max with back-to-back championships to begin the league and Jacques the defending champ. Both with five playoff appearances, Max made it the championship four times, Jacques three (four after this week?). Jacques gained an edge on record after this season, but Max has cut into that points gap. Championships end up being the deciding factor in this toss-up.

Jacques at the 4th spot. Earning back-to-back championships puts him squarely in 3rd and in the conversation for 2nd. Legacy shades of Russell Wilson, Drew Brees without the statistical ceiling.

Max at 3rd. His first Mully may cause a slight drop, but two championships ensures a high legacy floor. Legacy shades of Terry Bradshaw, wholesome Big Ben, John Elway.
