Statement by Cobb’s Bubble Route: Long Live The League

 Esteemed Members,

I’ll keep my remarks short today. I like to think I’ve developed a certain level of respect in this league, maybe not as a year in-year-out playoff contender, but as someone who shows up every week to play; as someone who has never missed an event prior to 2020; and as someone who has brought home a championship due to pure grit and staying power.

We are in a weird time; 2020 has been a year like no other. America is approaching 190,000 COVID deaths at a minimum, and even as of yesterday, more than 1,000 Americans are dying daily. We are still in a pandemic, and with that comes making choices about risk. I respect each one of your choices, and I ask that the league respect mine.

All that being said, I miss you lads dearly and will cherish the next opportunity I have to crank up the debauchery and weirdness. Lest we forget last year- I found myself popping an addy, staying up drafting until the wee hours of the morning, and finally yacking in the restroom of hickory’s finest establishment, Snack Bar, that day. That energy for this league still roars within me.

I will be a full virtual participant this year, and will bring the noise from Charlotte. As a token of my commitment to this league, I’ve compiled an album of pics from our youth that I think will bring back many a memory- excited to share as we approach the draft.

P.S. I am ready to accept my punishment as the winner of last years Mully.

All my best,

-Former League Champion,

Cobb’s Bubble Route
